This month’s theme is Midsummer’s Eve, chosen by Bettye. And for a Dutch girl, I didn’t know what to do with this theme. Because I could go to a Shakespeare novel or just do my own thing. But, you know me… I want it all!
Welcome to the monthly edition of Match made in Seven! We are an international group of fashion bloggers who meet once a month. One of us chooses a theme in turn, and that can be anything. A book, music, a color, a movie. And then we style an outfit based on that theme. The theme of this month is chosen and is: Midsummer’s Eve.
Also take a look at the other bloggers how they have interpreted the theme this month.

I saw on the internet some inspiration, but I didn’t feel good choosing fashion that is totally not me. Do you see me walking in a white dress? Even on my own wedding I was wearing black.
Then I noticed the floral dresses and braids with lovely flowers. And then I could figure out this fashion look. It had to be a little bit romantic and some flowers and of course a little bit of me!
Dress with flowers
Flowers in a vase I do love the most. My clothes on the other hand are more graphic designed prints, stripes, circles or even dots… I don’t mind. But flowers? Oh my… I have to find a very stunning pattern or it won’t hang in my closet.
I am glad I found a floral dress, yes I did, with a very nice ‘sort of Indonesian style’ print as my mother in law called it.
Last Saturday we went to a nice parc in the woods, Landal Rabbit Hill. So I asked my sister in law if it was possible to make some pictures. Because we were in the woods, fairytale,… but I forgot to bring some flowers for my hair. So this is what you get 🙈
The dress is made out of cotton, so it is very lightweight to wear and very cool on a warm day.
Underneath this dress I wear a short legging with lace from Junarose, so that my thighs don’t rub against each other. Plus… I feel more comfortable with that legging, sitting on a chair gives no sticky feeling.
So sad because my clogs, both, are broken in half. They were really my favorite shoes. Perhaps the nails on the side made the sole split, a shame huh? But on the other side… new shoes are coming in soon! 😉
I hope that my Midsummer’s Eve interpretation is good enough… because this time it was a real struggle to make ‘a match made in seven’.
I would like it if you visit the other lovely ladies and see how they made a match with the theme Accessories…
