What a nightmare I had from this round of Match Made in Seven. Anna chose the Best of British theme and now you can think of all kinds of things, flowers, stripes, if necessary a fairy tale, but girl what a choice, you made it very difficult for this Dutch lady!
Welcome to the monthly edition of Match made in Seven! We are an international group of fashion bloggers who meet once a month. One of us chooses a theme in turn, and that can be anything. A book, music, a color, a movie. And then we style an outfit based on that theme. The theme of this month is chosen and is: Best of British
Also take a look at the other bloggers how they have interpreted the theme this month.

Best of British
I am so sorry, but I have to admit that I asked Nancy a bit of advice, because to make a dress out of an English flag, I didn’t really want to do that either.
She gave me two words to think about and that was High-Tea and Mini Cooper. The first thing that came to mind were mainly sweet scenes with floral dresses. Now I am not a type for the flower dress and I thought back in time …
I still remember that my mother had a magazine, DE KNIP, there were patterns to make, for example, a pair of breeches in a riding style. And there came my eureka moment … I am going to devote my style entirely to the English countryside, after all I live here in a very beautiful environment where this style would not look out of place at all.
My British country style
I don’t have a dog anymore, but if I had one now … preferably a nice hunting dog.
When I think of typical British, an umbrella comes to mind first. So of course he also had to be on the photo. They also wear a hat more often and I, as a fan of a beautiful hat, can only appreciate that and so it had to be in this fashion story.
I combined the look with a tight checkered pants that looks a bit like riding pants, a white blouse, black tie, black jacket and long black boots.
My second British look
This time I had so much inspiration that I made a second look, a more subdued look, in which I used earthy tones.
My mother was so sweet to give a few items from her wardrobe. And I even wear a hat from my own grandma Dirkje here.
The same white blouse, with a tie from my stepfather, the waistcoat is from my mother’s wedding, she wore that together with a suit.
In my hurry I forgot my brown boots, but oh well it has now become fun too, just think that brown color!
I also made the brooch that I am wearing myself with all old materials.
The stola has been crocheted by my mother herself, she is very creative and luckily I don’t get that from a stranger.
I hope you enjoyed my fashion story… Best of British!
I would like it if you visit the other lovely ladies and see how they made a match with the theme Accessories…
